About Me: Amanda
Hi! My name is Amanda, and I’m the founder and sole instructor behind Learn2Read. As a certified Orton-Gillingham (OG) Practitioner with OG Canada with nearly 10 years experience in the field, I help equip students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies they need to succeed. I meet students where they are in their learning journey, providing the support and guidance they need to grow with confidence. I thoroughly enjoy working with my students, and seeing them grow and overcome academic challenges continuously inspires my work.

Experience
My academic journey began when I earned my
Bachelor of Science degree and later continued with the completion of my Honours degree.
While volunteering at elementary schools within SD42, including James Cameron School—a private school specializing in teaching students with learning differences—I encountered firsthand the challenges students in these circumstances face in their education journey. It was during this time that I decided to train as an Education Assistant (EA) and later, an OG Practitioner, enabling me to help students with learning differences overcome their academic challenges.
I trained through REACH Learning Centre, a leading provider of certified OG training in Canada, and I obtained my certification through OG Canada, the Canadian accrediting body for Practitioners. After completing comprehensive training and an applied practicum, I was hired by REACH as an OG Practitioner.
During my time at REACH, while also working as an OG Practitioner and EA at James Cameron School, I gained an appreciation for the field and insights into supporting students with learning differences. In 2016, I founded my business, Learn2Read then Read2Learn, dedicated to helping students achieve academic success. Presently, I am a certified OG Practitioner, and am currently an Associate Member of OG Canada.
