Vowels have an essential role in reading and spelling, but their sounds can be more difficult for children to hear and identify. These tactile vowel letters give students a hands-on way to focus on vowel sounds, identify the vowel in a syllable, and build a stronger connection between the letter or letters and its sound.

This Vowel Set can also be used alongside the Alphabet Set to provide additional vowels for spelling lessons and literacy activities. Note the Vowel Set is the same size as the Alphabet Set and is larger than the Reduced Size Alphabet Set.

Choose your colour:

• Select one colour for the set

• Consider choosing the same vowel colour when used alongside the Alphabet Set

Add self-correcting checkmarks:

• Optional checkmarks are built into the letters to indicate the correct orientation of each letter

• This provides an additional visual cue for students who may reverse letters while learning letter formation

Choose your letter depth:

• Select an 8 mm or 6 mm thickness based on your preferred tactile experience
